Community
We believe in giving back to our local communities through volunteerism and material support. We contribute to many not-for-profit organizations that are making a difference in the places we live and work. Among those we most strongly support are:

Centre County United Way--Gold Member
The mission of the Centre County United Way is to improve lives by prioritizing needs and mobilizing human and financial resources to positively impact the education, financial stability and physical and emotional health of our neighbors.

Centre Foundation
Since 1981, generous donors have helped build up nearly $30 million in Foundation assets, allowing the Centre Foundation to invest almost $12 million in our community. The Foundation believes in the organizations that are working to create a better future for Centre County. It provides services to them to build endowments, to create support through community engagement, to strengthen themselves through training and research, and to convene funding partners with charitable organizations to fund transformative projects.

State College Food Bank
The mission of the Centre County Food Bank is to provide food security, directly and indirectly, to people in Centre County. Its vision is that one day, no one will go hungry in Centre County.

State College Meals on Wheels
State College Area Meals on Wheels prepares and delivers over 43,000 meals each year to homebound persons in the Centre Region.
No government tax dollars are used to fund this non-profit, home-delivered meal program. More than 150 volunteers and a staff of three, and space provided by Grace Lutheran Church (GLC) make this service possible.

Housing Transitions
Housing Transitions (HTI) is a nonprofit corporation offering a variety of housing services to Centre County residents in need. HTI believes that housing crises are caused by a multitude of personal and financial difficulties that must be handled properly in order to arrive at sustainable solutions. Having a stable housing environment allows families and individuals to more effectively address underlying problems and increase their self-sufficiency. Housing Transitions was founded in 1984 as a homeless shelter and has gradually become the primary housing resources provider in Centre County.

Youth Service Bureau
The Youth Service Bureau ensures that children, youth, and families will have opportunities to realize and fulfill their potential for growth and development through their participation in a continuum of community-based, family-based, and residential programs.

State College Community Theater
State College Community Theater was created with the intent to foster educational recreation for adults and children within our community and to afford opportunity for creative endeavor and expression in the allied arts of the theater. The organization’s goal is to bring together amateur talent within our area for the development and advancement of literary, artistic, musical and dramatic production. SCCT hopes to propagate among the public an understanding of the values of theatre and its contribution to cultural, ethical, and moral life, and to encourage and support the highest standards of quality in all areas of theatrical activity.
